Telemundo KNSO-TV51 Hispanic Business Salute 2008 Recognizes Chamber Members
On Friday, March 28, 2008, Telemundo KNSO-TV51 proudly presents the 1st Annual Central Valley Hispanic Business Salute, a tribute to the Hispanic business leaders in Central California.
Being recognized for their contributions to their communities are TKHCC Chamber members Gil Aguilar, CPA and current partner of Pine, Pedroncelli & Aguilar, and Joe Rocha, owner/manager of Dinuba Flower Box. Also being recognized are David Borunda (Plaza Venata), Suzanne Moreno (Encourage Tomorrow) and Graciela Todd (International Catering).

Aguilar is a former Hispanic Chamber Board member of 9 years and served 5 years on the Executive Committee as Board Treasurer and Board President. He is the current Board President of El Futuro Credit Union, Board Vice President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tulare County, and current Board Secretary of the Tulare County Workforce Investment Board. Gil has participated in the Chamber’s Chili Verde Golf Committee for the last ten years, co-chairing two, and served as the event “chef” for 9 years. He is the current Treasurer of the Tulare Baseball Association, member of the Tulare District Hospital Bond Oversight Committee, and coached soccer for 15 years and baseball 5 years. He is the current Secretary of the Chamber’s Corridor-65 Chapter Steering Committee. Gil Aguilar was recognized as the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber’s “Man of the Year” in 2007.

Joe Rocha is the owner and manager of Dinuba Flower Box (formerly Dinuba Flower Shop). He is the current Chair of the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber Northern Tulare County Chapter Steering Committee. He was Chamber Board President in 2007 and currently serves on the Chamber’s Executive Committee as President Emeritus. In September 2003, Joe joined the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber Board of Directors, and he was named to chair the newly formed Northern Tulare County Chapter of the Hispanic Chamber. In 2004, Assembly Member Sarah Reyes, 31st District, held the Sixth Annual Outstanding Leadership Awards and recognized Joe Rocha and the Dinuba Flower Shop as the Small Business of the Year recipient. In September 2005, under Joe’s leadership, the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber held the first ever, Mexican Independence Day (Dieciséis de Septiembre) celebration in Dinuba. It has grown in attendance and stature in 2006 and 2007.
The Hispanic Business Salute also spotlights future Hispanic business leaders by providing scholarships to deserving Hispanic students seeing the benefits of a higher education.
The dinner and program will commence at 6 PM at the Fresno State Satellite Student Union. Tickets are $40 per person and are available through the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber office.
