Ruiz Foods Receives HREVOLUTION Award For Excellence in Human Resources

Ruiz Foods was recently recognized with a HREVOLUTION AWARD in recognition of human resources solutions implemented that demonstrate innovation and excellence in response to human capital challenges in the meat and poultry industries.

Ameritas Group and The National Provisioner, a publication of Stagnito Communications that targets meat and poultry processors, developed the HREVOLUTION AWARDS and personally presented them to the winning HR departments.

“Meat and poultry processors face many tough human capital issues today, and business leaders expect human resources departments to provide strategic direction and solutions to address these concerns,” says Barbara Young, editor-in-chief of The National Provisioner. “HR departments help processors tackle human capital problems effectively every day, and it’s important to recognize and reward their successes.”

Entries submitted were evaluated by a panel of senior-level human resources professionals from across the country. Twelve individuals served as judges and together they represent 231 years of HR experience in a wide range of industries.

Ruiz Foods, Employee Participation Program encourages employees to participate in a variety of company and community programs, events, activities and benefits. One such program is Ruiz 4 Kids, a nonprofit organization founded by Ruiz Foods, employees in 1990 to support the health and education needs of children in the community as well as fellow Ruiz employees.

For more than 41 years, Ruiz operations were located in California's Central San Joaquin Valley. In January 2006 Ruiz opened a manufacturing facility and distribution warehouse in Denison, Texas. One of management’s goals was to ensure that the company’s commitment to the community continued at its new location. The success of the programs in both locations was validated by the company’s HREVOLUTION AWARD.
